Each and every donation is important to FBA and is greatly appreciated. First Baptist Academy provides a Christ-centered and biblically-integrated college preparatory education to develop the next generation of Christian servant leaders for the glory of God. Your gift to our school helps us equip students to stand and act as followers of Jesus in a broken world. Thank you for grasping the significance of education with a biblical worldview in equipping our students and those whose lives they will influence. Please read below to find out the many ways you can support FBA.

Our FBA Family is so excited about our new campus! We are grateful to each and every person who has sacrificially given to make our new campus a reality.

In its over 45-year history, FBA has experienced a lot of change. Having educated over 1900 Christian scholars, FBA is at a time now where we need to grow and expand our reach to more families. Even after evaluating potential renovations at the Downtown location, it became apparent that the current facilities would not be able to accommodate the sustained growth of our school. In short, we needed more space that we could not get even with extensive renovations in the Spurgeon Harris Building. Additionally, we heard from many prospective families and current families that they preferred a campus-like environment to facilitate experiential learning. Given the studies conducted by the facilities committee and feedback from current and prospective families, redeveloping the Saints Athletic Complex and moving the school emerged as the ideal solution.

Founded in 1972, First Baptist Academy was the realization of a twenty-seven year old dream of Dr. W.A. Criswell, the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Dallas at the time. FBA has always been and will continue to be a ministry of First Baptist Church, Dallas. Additionally, FBA is a ministry that is being supported by FBC’s Mission 1:8 initiative, and FBC has pledged to support the redevelopment at the Complex through this initiative. Even though the day-to-day school activity will move to a new campus, the relationship between the church and the school will remain.

While there are a number of intangibles involved with construction that could alter the completion date, our goal is to raise the necessary funds to complete Phase 1 of the redevelopment by the Summer of 2017 so we can begin the 2017-2018 school year at the new campus.

The current anticipated cost of Phase 1 is $4 Million. Based on the studies by the facilities committee, this is the appropriate budget that will allow for the redevelopment of the facilities to accommodate approximately 275-300 students by the 2017-2018 school year.

Yes, we are considering all options to service our families that prefer to drop-off and pick-up in Downtown. We intend to offer a service that will allow families to drop-off and pick-up before and after school at a location in the Downtown facilities. We are still working through the specifics of the exact drop-off/pick-up location, the time for drop-off and pick-up, the transportation, etc., but anticipate having the specifics determined well in advance of the target move in date for planning purposes.

Our focus right now is to grow the school to continue the mission of developing Christian servant leaders. As with any capital project, however, the timing of construction is driven by the success of our fundraising efforts. We are actively pursuing all fundraising avenues to facilitate continued growth of the school and continued work on the next phases of the redevelopment. While we cannot give an exact timeline for the next phases of construction, our long-term goal is to accommodate approximately 800 students in Pre-K through 12th grade and have the appropriate facilities to provide the best Christian, college-preparatory education in Dallas.

Since 2004, the Rogers Dinner, named for Orville and Esther Beth Rogers, has honored members of the FBA family who have demonstrated significant and consistent contributions to furthering the goal of FBA to develop and disciple the next generation of Christian scholars. A portion of the proceeds are invested in the Orville and Esther Beth Rogers Scholarship Fund.

In the fall of 1995, 15 FBA families came together to propose an FBA Auction. And so the journey began….

In March, 1996, the very first FBA auction was held at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. From that point on, the auction has been a valuable component to our Development program. To date, the past 16 FBA auctions have raised over $1,000,000 to further the mission of our school!

There have been different venues, entertainment, themes, people, and donations at each auction, but one thing remains the same. The FBA auction supports the mission of our school through funding for tuition assistance, facilities, technology, marketing, transportation, and a host of other initiatives. It is our desire, that through funds raised during our auction, we can provide a Christ- centered, biblically integrated, college preparatory education to develop the next generation of Christian servant leaders for the glory of God.

Inspired by long-time FBA supporter and grandparent to two FBA graduates, Orville Rogers. the annual Rogers Run is an opportunity for you to participate in either a 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run benefiting the Orville and Esther Beth Rogers Scholarship Fund for FBA tuition assistance. A portion of the proceeds go to the permanent Rogers Scholarship Fund and the remainder go to benefit current FBA students.

While others dreamed of coasting for the latter part of their lives, Orville Rogers, at the age of 50, started running.

Now, at age 99, with over 40,000 miles of track behind him, Mr. Rogers holds 14 world records including the 4×200 meter relay, the 4×8 relay, the indoor 800-meter, and the indoor mile, as well as American records in the 1,500 meter and 3,000 meter races in his age-range.

After a race, a freelance writer for New York Times magazine asked Orville what motivated him to continue running. He replied by quoting Hebrews 12:1-2:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The FBA family are witnesses to the life of faith lived by Orville and Esther Beth Rogers. To God be the glory
