SPECIAL EVENTS

ROGERS DINNER
Since 2004, the Rogers Dinner, named for Orville and Esther Beth Rogers, has honored members of the FBA family who have demonstrated significant and consistent contributions to furthering the goal of FBA to develop and disciple the next generation of Christian scholars. A portion of the proceeds are invested in the Orville and Esther Beth Rogers Scholarship Fund.

FBA AUCTION
In the fall of 1995, 15 FBA families came together to propose an FBA Auction. And so the journey began….

In March, 1996, the very first FBA auction was held at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas. From that point on, the auction has been a valuable component to our Development program. To date, the past 16 FBA auctions have raised over $1,000,000 to further the mission of our school!

There have been different venues, entertainment, themes, people, and donations at each auction, but one thing remains the same. The FBA auction supports the mission of our school through funding for tuition assistance, facilities, technology, marketing, transportation, and a host of other initiatives. It is our desire, that through funds raised during our auction, we can provide a Christ- centered, biblically integrated, college preparatory education to develop the next generation of Christian servant leaders for the glory of God.

ROGERS RUN
Inspired by long-time FBA supporter and grandparent to two FBA graduates, Orville Rogers, the annual Rogers Run is an opportunity for you to participate in either a 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run benefiting the Orville and Esther Beth Rogers Scholarship Fund for FBA tuition assistance. A portion of the proceeds go to the permanent Rogers Scholarship Fund and the remainder go to benefit current FBA students.

While others dreamed of coasting for the latter part of their lives, Orville Rogers, at the age of 50, started running.

Now, at age 100, with over 40,000 miles of track behind him, Mr. Rogers holds 14 world records including the 4×200 meter relay, the 4×8 relay, the indoor 800-meter, and the indoor mile, as well as American records in the 1,500 meter and 3,000 meter races in his age-range.

After a race, a freelance writer for New York Times magazine asked Orville what motivated him to continue running. He replied by quoting Hebrews 12:1-2:

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The FBA family are witnesses to the life of faith lived by Orville and Esther Beth Rogers. To God be the glory.
